Doesn't matter
Corn flour, water, mixing bowl

Let your toddler use their hands to experiment with some exciting gloop! It’s easy to make and can help teach them the difference between soft and hard.

Empty a quarter of a box of corn flour into a mixing bowl. Slowly add the water, stirring with your fingers until the mixture is like thick custard. Then it’s over to your toddler to play with! When they pick it up and squeeze it the gloop should feel rubbery and hard; when they relax their grip, it will feel like a liquid!

It’s such a fun way to learn about different consistencies and textures. Pop your toddler on the kitchen floor if you’re worried about mess, or to make it even more exciting, add a drop of food colouring!
