Thrush is a common, fairly harmless, yeast infection that can cause itching, irritation and swelling of the vagina and surrounding area. There may also be a creamy white, cottage cheese-like discharge.

Pregnant women are more prone to getting thrush but this is nothing to worry about as it isn’t harmful to your baby.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, oral thrush treatments should be avoided. Instead, use vaginal pessaries, plus an anti-thrush cream, if needed.
