when my 2nd daughter was born, soon afterwards, as she didn't have much hair, my husband pointed out the shape of her head, to be honest I hadn't noticed until then. It was very flat at the back towards the right side a bit and if you looked down from the top her head looked totally skewwif and her ears seemed to be at odd heights! I asked the health visitors and I was told her head looked normal to them, though it definately wasn't. we saw an advert in a magazine for a helmet you can get to fix the problem and we wondered if she had that problem but we have just left it and when she stopped sleeping on her back her head seemed to round out at the back. obviously for a girl if it isn't quite right her hair can hide the problem more than a boys can. I personally didn't want to do anything unless I had to but I think the problem is more cosmetic and how it looks rather than needing anything to be done, though I din't read up too much as sometimes I think you can worry too much. erin is 15 months now, I havent really checked out what her head looks like recently but she is a happy baby with no problems so I stopped worrying about it.
hope this helps a bit, if you want to know more, though i'm no expert let me know.
