weaning and colds

Hi I am new to this site. I have a near 7 month old baby boy Archie, who was born 1 month prematurely. I have started weaning him at 6 months which he was doing so well on baby rice sweet pots carrots etc but giving him green veg and protein mixed with what he originally liked has proved difficult. He now has a chesty cold and this may have put him off his food but he is now refusing most of his formula milk. I have tried keeping up his fluids with water/juice but he only takes a few sips a time. Is this normal? Should I just concentrate on formula milk and start weaning foods when he is better?
