At 6months the doorway opens to a whole new scope of food.
Breakfast? My boy has normal porridge, made with full fat cows milk and mix in a banana. U could try it with cinnamon or add flavours of your own. (pureed apple/pear) If the consistency of the porridge is too thick, just blend it a little. You can also give weetabix with no added sugar or salt. (u can get 'hipp a bix' 4 babyies made by hipp organic. U can even try your baby with some fingers of toast perhaps?
4 dinner and tea, I tend to give him a little of whatever we have, either blended, mashed ... then later on just chopped finely. Just make sure there is no added sugar or salt. And obviously steer clear of un-cooked meats and shell fish.
U could make a recipe with baby pasta shapes, cheese, tomatoes... add different veg, or potatoes.... the possibilities are endless!
What about trying some scrambled eggs? U could even add veg to these? Try giving raw carrot/celery/cucumber sticks... Or perhaps some cooked green beans as a finger food?
How about trying some cottage cheese.. or yoghurt?
Just make sure your baby gets plenty of iron, as this is often the biggest defficiency found in babies. (Red meats, leafy green veg) and make sure your baby gets thier pint of milk a day (through dairy products as solids along with breast/formula).
There's soooo much you can try.. just mash/blend according to your babies progress!
Hope this helps a little, Gem. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
