Your toddler's brain at 12 - 18 months

12 - 18 months: your toddler’s brain

Learn how your toddler's memory skills are developing and why the right fats are important for a healthy brain.

Your toddler is getting brighter by the day, and between 12 - 18 months their memory will start to improve too. You can help them practise using their new brain power by playing games that involve remembering where they put their favourite toy, or seeing if they know what comes next in their favourite book. As their brain develops, so do their emotions. It can feel quite overwhelming for your little one! Just make sure you’re on hand with plenty of love, reassurance and cuddles.
